The Annual Mount Ascot Merino Ram Sale held on property at Mt Ascot, Mitchell QLD on Wednesday 20th January saw vendors from all over Queensland and a couple from NSW source high quality merino rams to a maximum price of $8000.00.
A great day was experienced by everyone that attended as further talk of rain on the horizon and a great start to the new year was on the top of most conversations.
The Buyers that took home rams were from as far away as Longreach in Central Qld and to the South, near Inverell NSW.
Average price for the sale was $1100.00 and Top priced ram of $8000.00 going to the Kneipp Family NSW. 64 Single rams sold at an average of $1496.00 per ram.
Volume buyers were Bob and Marg Little, Cunnamulla with 33 rams, Peter Lucas, Wyandra with a great line up of 15 or more rams and Graham Winks also picking up a good line of 15 or more rams. Other repeat buyers at the Mt Ascot Sale were Bruce and Jo Whip -Moven, Arthur Gaunt -St George, Jim & Kate Scutt –Dirranbandi, Mt Cornish Past –Longreach, Dukes family – Moven and new buyers the Crook-King Family –Mitchell.
